With 127 Hours literally amputating its own appendages to get into cinemas, the internet sent aflutter by his choice of reading material and a reported role in the upcoming Wrath of the Titans (why?!), you can’t swing a Green Goblin without hitting a story about the vogue actor.

The rumour this time (via NME) is that Franco is being touted as Matt Damon’s replacement for the lead role in The Bourne Legacy.

As we reported recently, series scribe Tony Gilroy does not intend on continuing the saga with Jason Bourne as the central character if Damon does not reprising the character; therefore,  if cast Franco will likely play a new spy who has been custom-written to appropriate the franchise and continue Bourne’s cinematic legacy.

There is, however, currently no news pertaining to who this new character might be and, importantly, no confirmation that this news is even close to true.
