Since his hit TV show Gavin & Stacey got picked up by the BBC back in 2007, James Corden’s career been a never-ending success story (with maybe the odd blip – most notably Lesbian Vampire Killers; something which is very much regrets! (see our interview below!)).

His Gavin & Stacey Corden character Smithy was able to bring the England football team together to create skits for Comic relief, he’s become good friends with David Beckham, he won a Tony award in 2012 for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for “One Man, Two Guvnors”, was Emily Blunt’s on-screen husband in Into the Woods for Disney, hosts the Sky One sport TV show A League of Their Own and most recently became the host of The Late Late Show for CBS in the US.

Today, Sky and CBS have announced a partnership bringing his Late Late Show to the UK from the 19th July on both Sky TV and Now TV. The show will appear on their on-demand packages one day after it’s been broadcast in the US. Today Sky have also announced that Sky1 (The home of James’ A League of Their Own) will broadcast a ‘The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special’ also on the 19th.

We spoke to James back in January 2015 at the Into the Woods premiere (video below)who spoke about taking on the host of the show. He was obviously worried about doing it with the pressures it brings but looking back, we’re sure he’ll be very proud of what he’s accomplished and so he should be!
