Jack-the-Giant-Slayer-PosterBryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer has just a few more days before it lands on the big screen, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it fares at the US box office this weekend.

Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class, Warm Bodies) topped the box office in the States last month with the release of Warm Bodies. And I’m hoping he’ll be doing the same thing again with Jack the Giant Slayer, further cementing his status as a rising star with a lead role in a blockbuster of this size.

Warner Bros. have recently released a new trailer along with a new UK poster. And now they’ve debuted the latest TV spot, giving us a look at the epic action we have coming our way very soon.

“An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.”

Hoult is joined by a great cast, led by Ewan McGregor, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, John Kassir, Ewen Bremner, and Eddie Marsan.

Singer (X-Men) is directing from a script written by Dan Studney (Reefer Madness), Darren Lemke (Shrek Forever After), and Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects).

Jack the Giant Slayer will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 1st March in the US, with its UK release date set for 22nd March. For now, here’s the latest TV spot to get you in the mood.
