J.J. Abrams has made no secret of the fact that he’s a fan of Apple, and though the tongue in cheek note he released via Twitter after they unveiled the iPhone 6 and the Apple Watch doesn’t reveal much, what we see a glimpse of in the background does offer some intriguing Star Wars Episode VII hints!

There have been many rumours about the movie so far, including the fact that the Empire will still play a role in the Galaxy despite the fact that Darth Vader and The Emperor fell at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Could it be that they’ve built another Death Star? Well, the lights in the background certainly point to it being a possibility as they’re near identical to those we saw in that iconic orbital battle station (as you can see in the image above from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope). This could be any number of other locations reusing the same sort of imagery for the Empire, but still leaves us a lot to wonder about!

Starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars Episode VII will be released on December 18th, 2015.
