Now that he’s finished with Middle-earth, what Peter Jackson does next is obviously something everyone wants to know. For years, there’s been talk of him possibly working on an episode of Doctor Who, but The Hobbit trilogy quickly put an end to that happening.

Now that he had a lot more free time, the chances of Jackson working on the beloved BBC series have drastically increased, and the video below appears to be confirmation.

As you can see, it features the filmmaker and his daughter talking about Steven Moffat chasing him to helm an episode of Doctor Who, and Peter Capaldi’s sudden appearance in this peculiar but fun video seems to indicate that the whole thing is by now a done deal.

We’ll have to wait and see if some sort of official confirmation comes, but they’ll no doubt be something along those lines in the near future if Jackson really is going to work on Doctor Who. He’d be far from the first high profile director to do so (Kill List and High-Rise’s Ben Wheatley worked on a couple not long ago), but would be by far the most famous to date.

Check out the video below and let us know what you’d like to see from Jackson’s take on Doctor Who in the comments section. You can guarantee it’s going to be epic though, right?
