There’s no question that Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 will be on my Top 10 Movies of 2013 come year’s end, and with the film now slowly fading from cinemas, we next turn towards its home entertainment release this September.
As ever, Marvel have kitted out the Blu-ray and DVD releases with special features, and we’ve had the list of bonus features sent over to share, giving us a great early look at what we can expect to see from beyond the movie in a few months’ time.
Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
Robert Downey, Jr. of course is front and centre once more as Tony Stark / Iron Man, starring alongside a terrific ensemble, led by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Ben Kingsley, Jon Favreau, Ty Simpkins, James Badge Dale, and Stephanie Szostak.
Black directs from a script he co-wrote with Drew Pearce, and I can’t wait to hear the audio commentary that the two have recorded.
Downey, Jr. has recently officially signed on to star in The Avengers 2 and 3, which means that Iron Man 3 thankfully won’t be the last time we see him in the role for which he is globally beloved.
In the US, Iron Man 3 is set to be given an early debut for its HD Digital Copy / HD Digital Copy 3D on September 3rd, followed by the release of the Blu-ray 3D Super Set, Blu-ray/DVD Combo, DVD, Digital Copy, and On Demand on September 24th.
Here in the UK, the film is set to be released on Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray Combo, Blu-ray, and DVD on 9th September, giving us all plenty of time to re-watch the epic movie before the arrival of Thor: The Dark World on 30th October in the UK and November 8th in the US.
