With the massive success of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage the Marvel/Netflix shows have ushered in a new era of small screen superheroes. There is another big name from the Marvelverse coming in the form of Iron Fist, played by Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones. Iron Fist, also known as Danny Rand, is the final piece of the puzzle that leads us to The Defenders mini-series, which is coming to Netflix sometime in the middle of 2017. Before then we have the launch of Iron Fist’s solo outing, which is due to hit the streaming service around the world on the 17th of March.

Joining Jones in this new Marvel TV series we have Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Tom Pelphrey and Jessica Stroup. Jones’ character is (another) billionaire orphan proficient in the martial arts, though as a Buddhist Monk able to focus his chi and wield the power of the titular Iron Fist there’s a supernatural element to this superhero.

Scott Buck, the showrunner of Iron First, has said that the series is as much about facing the dangers of a chaotic world as it is about a young man finding his own self, and a purpose in the world. The thread of continuity from the other Defenders Netflix TV Series comes in the form of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, who first appeared in the first season of Daredevil, and has since appeared in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. She can be seen in one of the images below.
