Vanessa Hudgens once had a very wholesome, Disney image and one that did look as though it may follow her around for a large proportion of her career. However the 24 year old has swiftly reinvented herself, and never quite so daringly as in The Frozen Ground, as she plays a crack addicted prostitute caught up in the hunt for a serial killer. With the film released in cinemas nationwide on July 19, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the actress to discuss the project.
Based on real events concerning demented murderer Robert Hansen (John Cusack), Hudgens plays Cindy Paulson, who manages to escape from the clutches of the killer and teams up with a detective (Nicolas Cage) to held uncover enough evidence to take Hansen down once and for all. Hudgens discusses what it was like to meet the real life survivor of which her role is based upon, and also tells us about moving away from her Disney image, and working alongside Cage and Cusack.
