Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 12.59.37There are filmmakers quite like Richard Linklater, as somebody who continuously pushes the boundaries of cinema, and never more so than in his latest production Boyhood, which took 12 years to shoot.

Linklater discusses this unique project, and not only the fulfilling aspects to having created a picture across so many years, but the challenges too, and how open he was with the narrative and how similar the finished product was to what he had initially envisaged. He also tells us how weird it is for him now, to not be filming this film, given how big a role it has played in his life for so many years.

Boyhood is released on July 11th, and you can read our review here.
