Having won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film with the disquieting drama The Secret in Their Eyes, few would have predicted that Argentine director Juan José Campanella would have turned his head to the children’s animation. Yet that is exactly what he’s done, presenting his latest project, The Unbeatables.

The film tales the story of a foosball team that come to life, and we spoke to Campanella about his decision to try something so different, and how comedy translates to other countries. He also tells us about the inevitable pressure that comes with a project that follows an Oscar winning film, and about assembling his British cast, which consists of Rupert Grint, Rob Brydon and Anthony Head.

The Unbeatables is released on August 15th.
