Despite writing, directing and starring in a variety of films across his eclectic career to date – it’s somewhat more rare to see Jon Favreau take on all three roles, but in this instance, it was imperative, as he discusses his latest feature Chef, which he describes as being one of the most personal pieces he’s ever done.
The last film to feel this autobiographical was Swingers (which we discussed, naturally), while Favreau also tells us about the correlations between himself as a filmmaker, and Carl Casper, his character in the movie. He also tells us about his cooking credentials, and we briefly discuss his work on the forthcoming blockbuster, The Jungle Book.
Chef is released on June 27th.
