While most people are waiting to see how the apes are portrayed and presented in Matt Reeves Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – the human beings in the tale are equally as intriguing, and none more so than Gary Oldman’s Dreyfus. Blurring the line between a hero and a villain, we had the opportunity to sit down with esteemed British actor, to discuss his own perceptions of the role.

Oldman also tells us about working with performance capture, and whether he is able to suspend his disbelief accordingly – and the weight of expectation that comes with such big, cinematic franchises – as an actor who is no stranger to this level of pressure, having also appeared in Harry Potter, Batman and most recently, Robocop.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is released on July 17th – read our five star review of the movie here.
