Hailee-Steinfeld-and-Douglas-Booth-in-Romeo-and-JulietThere aren’t many acting roles young boys dream of one day playing, other than Romeo – the pinnacle and epitome of a romantic, male lead. Douglas Booth was offered the chance to do just that – in Carlo Carlei’s Romeo and Juliet, adapted to the big screen by esteemed writer Julian Fellowes.

Hitting our cinema screens nationwide on October 11 – this adaptation also stars the likes of Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti, and we spoke to Booth about his experiences working with such experienced actors. On the flip-side, he discusses working alongside the young actress Hailee Steinfeld, while he also tells us what drew him into tackling Shakespeare, and whether he feels he appreciates the play any differently now he’s been such a huge part of its revival.
