So for Irish filmmaker Declan Lowney, getting involved in the Alan Partridge world has made him almost untouchable, as we sat down to speak with him ahead of the film’s August 7 release.

Discussing what tempted him into the world of Alan, and what it’s like to direct the originator himself Steve Coogan, we also got Lowney speaking about Ted, as he reveals that his very own son is named after a character from the hit show, while he also had a quick word to say on the late, great Mel Smith.
