The latest addition to Universal’s The Huntsman is A Most Violent Year’s Jessica Chastain, making the already impressive cast even more exciting. There’s no word on who she will be playing, but the actress will star alongside Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road).

Joining them will also be Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) who has now closed her deal to star in the Snow White and the Huntsman spinoff. Despite reports that the prequel would be short of at least a few dwarves, Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) is also confirmed to return as the dwarf Nion alongside Toby Jones and Eddie Marsan.

Chastain is currently shooting The Martian with Matt Damon for director Ridley Scott. She will next be seen in Gullermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak alongside an actor Hemsworth is very familiar with, Tom Hiddleston.

Frank Darabont was originally expected to direct The Huntsman, but he departed the project over creative differences. Taking his place will be Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, a visual effects expert who earned a Visual Effects Oscar nomination for Snow White and the Huntsman. This movie will mark his directorial debut.

Darabont’s wrote the latest screenplay, with earlier drafts penned by Craig Mazin and Evan Spiliotopoulos.
