Astonishingly it’s now been just under 10 years since the original Transformers movie and with the fifth film, Transformers: The Last Knight ready to land in cinemas June next year Paramount and IMAX have put together this rather fabulous video featurette looking at their partnership across the decade.

Based on the toys from Hasbro, the 2007 Michael Bay movie Transformers was a monstrous success bringing in an equally monstrous $700m + at the worldwide box office. I personally loved the first film. Everything about it was exceptional from the groundbreaking digital effects to the Steve Jablonsky score (which I still listen to regularly) to the inclusion of time of the greatest military technology available, there was nothing to fault about it (remember this is my opinion – not necessarily everyone agreed!).

The sequels to the original film failed to catch my imagination and interest as much as the original origin story but the bottom line has continued to impress with the most recently released 2014 film Transformers: Age of Extinction bringing in a whopping $1.1bn worldwide. It’s no wonder than Paramount keep releasing these movies and if those numbers continue Transformers: The Last Night certainly won’t be the last.

Michael Bay helms this fifth film which sees Mark Wahlberg returns as Cade Yeager alongside The Inbetweeners Movie star and fellow Brit Laura Haddock. Stanley Tucci joins them with John Goodman, and Sir Anthony Hopkins. We also see the return of Josh Duhamel and fan favourite John Turturro as Agent Simmons.

Not much is known about the plot for this movie, in fact IMDb at this moment in times says ‘Plot is unknown.’ which i’m not sure i’ve ever seen before! Either way i’m still hugely excited to see what Bay has done with this movie as i known are many others.

Check out this brand new featurette which looks at the collaboration between Paramount (or specifically the Transformers franchise) and IMAX over the past decade. It’s impressive stuff!
