How-to-Train-Your-Dragon-2-Teaser-Poster-sliceAfter netting almost half a billion dollars at the box office back in 2010, DreamWorks will be back for more next summer with How to Train Your Dragon 2, the anticipated second instalment in the trilogy.

The first teaser trailer surfaced over the summer, and now the studio has launched the first full-length trailer, via AwesomenessTV, following last month’s first poster debut.

The thrilling second chapter of the epic HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON trilogy brings us back to the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years after the two have successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons.

Jay Baruchel returns to lead the voice cast, with Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, and Kristen Wiig reprising their roles as well, and Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett, and Djimon Hounsou lending their voices for the second movie.

Dean DeBlois is once more at the helm, directing from his own script, loosely based on Cressida Cowell’s original book series, with John Powell returning to compose the score.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 will be released in 3D on June 13th, 2014 in the US, with its UK release date following on 4th July.
