We already know that Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell have great chemistry on screen after they starred in The Other Guys together, but their next collaboration looks set to take their relationship to a different place.
In Daddy’s Home, Ferrell plays a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children. However, complications predictably ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father (Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids. It sounds like a lot of fun!
It also looks pretty funny too, and you can watch the first trailer for the R-Rated movie below. It’s set to be released this Christmas, but the teaser was released to coincide with Father’s Day this Sunday which is smart. Sean Ander is directing Daddy’s Home, and his previous credits include She’s Out of My League, Hot Tub Time Machine, We’re the Millers, and Horrible Bosses 2, a solid resume when it comes to comedy!
Daddy’s Home also stars Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church, Alessandra Ambrosio, Paul Scheer, and Hannibal Buress. A UK release date doesn’t appear to have been set yet, so stay tuned for further updates!
