HeyUGuys brings you the latest in World Cinema film trailers in association with Film Dates UK

Each week we’ll be showcasing some of most anticipated foreign releases as well as highlighting a few hidden gems which may have fallen off your radar. It’s no surprise that Hollywood has turned to World Cinema for inspiration in recent years with the number of remakes getting more and more popular. 

Whilst it remains to be seen how many of these remakes go on to succeed or stay true to their original story counterparts, we decided it was high-time we turned the spotlight onto the next wave of foreign films to grace our screens. 

This week we have two documentaries and three movie trailers for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy! 

Pink Saris

Synopsis: Pierre Lachenay, a middle-aged, well-known publisher and lecturer, is married to Franca, an unbalanced woman, and father of Sabine, a 10-year-old girl. While traveling to Lisbon for a lecture, Pierre Lachenay has a one night stand with Nicole, the Panair do Brasil air stewardess. He wants to see her again and again, they travel to Reims together, and Pierre hides the affair from his family, mostly to spare his daughter the anguish of a separation. Nicole is taking it lightly but Pierre, misunderstanding her feelings and expectations, decides to live with her. The couple’s break-up leads to a tragic end. (French)

Synopsis: It’s 1977 and a man is hurriedly driving his expectant wife to hospital so that she can give birth. On his way he crashes into another car, within which is another pregnant lady whose labour is brought on prematurely as a result of the collision. Two babies – a boy and a girl – are born on the same day – this is the first of many coincidences that unite Ozgur (Mehmet Gunsur) and Deniz (Belcim Bilgin) and equally keep them apart. Several times throughout their young lives, curious forces tantalizingly bring them together and then cast them asunder, each time renewing the love and heartache they feel for each other, as well as drastically altering their lives and the lives of their families. That is until they meet again in Istanbul 25 years later when everything changes… (Turkish)
