Rising star Haley Bennett has signed on to star in Kirsty.
The twenty-something actress, who made noteworthy impressions in both Marley & Me and The Hole, will take the lead role in the Rosemary’s Baby-esque psychological thriller.
Kirsty centers on a girl (Bennett) who must confront her deepest fears in order to outwit a gang of violent outcasts who terrorise her following a random encounter during Thanksgiving.
Oliver Blackburn (Donkey Punch) is attached to direct from a script penned by Anthony Jaswinski, Scott Rosenberg and Gary Fielder. The film is a co-production between The Weinstein Company, Dimension Films and Electric City Entertainment.
Bennett, who was last seen in Kaboom, is currently shooting a part in Terrence Malick’s untitled project opposite Natalie Portman and Christian Bale.
