There’s now less than a year to go until the release of Deadpool (you can see a teaser from Ryan Reynolds by clicking here), and MMA star turned actress Gina Carano is the latest addition to the cast of the 2016 movie.
The Haywire and Fast & Furious 6 star will play Angel Dust, a character from the comic books – often known as “Dusty” in those – who was part of the underground group known as the Morlocks. She has superhuman strength, but there’s no word on how exactly that or her background will factor into this movie.
She’s not the only addition however as The Hollywood Reporter also confirms that T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) has landed an undisclosed role which will apparently see him act as comedic relief.
We have no update on who may have landed the movie’s lead female role after a list of names recently surfaced, but one very exciting bit of information in the site’s report is the fact that X-Men character Colossus is also expected to make an appearance in Deadpool. Hopefully Daniel Cudmore won’t return!
He didn’t exactly bring much in the way of charisma to the Russian mutant in previous appearances (the most recent was X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Reynolds will need a stronger actor than him to play off.
