After two failed big screen outings courtesy of Sony Pictures, the right to Ghost Rider quietly reverted back to Marvel Studios a few years back. What they were planning on doing with the character was something fans spent a lot of time wondering about, but it’s fair to say that the Spirit of Vengeance showing up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was definitely a surprise.
After revealing a first look at Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes, Marvel has unleashed a first look at the character in his Ghost Rider form along with a fiery new promo trailer for the show.
The synopsis for the season four premiere has also been released, and while it’s brief, there should be more than enough in there to get fans excited about what’s to come! “Gabriel Luna Guest Stars as Robbie Reyes – aka Ghost Rider,” it promises. “In the season premiere episode, ‘The Ghost,’ Ghost Rider is coming, and S.H.I.E.L.D will never be the same.”
With a new later time slot in America on ABC, fans of the show are hoping that Ghost Rider’s presence is a sign that the tone of the series will now fall more in line with the Marvel shows on Netflix. Whether or not that will be the case remains to be seen, but it’s looking good!
