Maisie Williams’ career is really taking off, with a very impressive appearance in Channel 4 drama Cyberbully earlier this year and a recent guest stint in two episodes of Doctor Who. Now, the Game of Thrones star has added yet another project to her already very busy slate, with it being revealed today that she’s joined the cast of The Forest Of Hands And Feet.

The movie is a post apocalyptic tale based on Carrie Ryan’s best-seller and set in a world where most of the human race has been taken by a bloodthirsty virus that leaves them roaming the planet as cannibals. Mary (Williams) seeks a world beyond the fenced-off village of survivors. The survival of the human race soon becomes dependent upon her success in leading a ragtag group through the dark depths of the Forest of Hands and Teeth.

Kate Maberly is writing and directing the adaptation, while Edge of Tomorrow’s Doug Liman is producing. She had this to say about the project. “I am so incredibly excited to be stepping into the ‘Forest’ and collaborating with such a brilliant creative mind as Doug’s. We can’t wait to bring Ryan’s fantastical world to life and are absolutely thrilled to have Maisie on board.”

“At Hypnotic we pride ourselves on our track record with first-time showrunners, and as a film director, I have enjoyed equal success working with new talent, added Liman. “Working with Kate over the last year on ‘Forest,’ I have seen her blossom into an extraordinary storyteller.” It’s clear that The Forest Of Hands And Feet is going to one to keep an eye on!
