The-Grand-Budapest-Hotel-UK-Quad-PosterWes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel is understandably one of the most anticipated films of next year, with Anderson returning behind the camera once more following the Oscar-nominated Moonrise Kingdom.

Fox Searchlight launched the first poster earlier in the week, with the promise that the first trailer would be landing online today, and now it has, giving the first look at footage from the latest Anderson adventure.

The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.

Ralph Fiennes takes the lead this time around as M. Gustave, and he is joined by yet another tremendous cast assembled by Anderson, led by (in alphabetical order) F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson, and Owen Wilson, and introducing Tony Revolori.

Anderson is directing from his own script, and he’s also producing here alongside Jeremy Dawson, Steven M. Rales, and Scott Rudin.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is set to be released on March 7th, 2014. Whilst it is of course incredibly early days to be talking about next year’s Oscars (let alone this year’s), Anderson has three nods to his name already, and it would be amazing to see this earn him his fourth (or more), particularly considering the early spring release date.
