For the past few years, Liam Neeson has undergone something of a career makeover, with Taken launching him wholeheartedly into action territory. He and director Jaume Collet-Serra have had two big hits so far in the genre with Unknown and Non-Stop, and now they’re embarking on their third adventure together, Run All Night.

Neeson will be coming off the back of Taken 3, which should be the ultimate test of whether or not audiences have grown weary of ex-CIA man Bryan Mills’ blend of action. A Walk Among the Tombstones didn’t perform as Universal were hoping a few months back, but you can’t help but think Run All Night will be a hit for Warner Bros.

Collet-Serra and Neeson’s two films so far have both been winners at the box office, and this first trailer kicks off what is sure to be a strong marketing campaign from the studio, intent on picking up strong numbers in the first two quarters of the year before the all-important summer season.

An aging hitman is forced to take on his brutal former boss to protect his estranged son and his family.

Joel Kinnaman and Genesis Rodriguez lead the cast on Neeson’s side of the good-bad line, with Ed Harris, Boyd Holbrook, Vincent D’Onofrio, Common, Holt McCallany, Bruce McGill, and Beau Knapp rounding out the ensemble.

Collet-Serra is directing from a script penned by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace).

Run All Night will be released on 17th April in the US and 1st May in the UK.
