Jason Statham returns to the big screen in the New York with his unique blend of crime/action in Parker, a thriller that sees him starring alongside an impressive cast, headed up by Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte, and Michael Chiklis.
The first trailer and poster have premiered online, courtesy of Machinima and IGN, respectively, and they show Statham set to be on top of his game.
“Parker (Jason Statham) is a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to PalmBeach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean.”
Taylor Hackford, the Oscar-winning director behind Ray and The Devil’s Advocate, is behind the camera, directing from a script by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan, Hitchcock), based on the best-selling series of novels by Donald E. Westlake.
Parker will be hitting cinemas in the UK and US on 25th January, 2013, and should be an awesome way to finish out the box office in the first month of the New Year. For now, here’s the great first trailer, along with the first poster, which you can click to enlarge.
