Jersey Boys 2

Warner Bros. have released the first trailer and poster for Clint Eastwood’s big screen adaptation of popular stage musical Jersey Boys. The movie revolves around Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and chronicles their rise to fame in the 1960s with hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Walk Like a Man.”

The Tony Award winning Broadway musical is extremely popular, and as with the likes of Mamma Mia and Les Miserables, the brand recognition alone could mean that the studio have a guaranteed hit on their hands.

It also helps that the trailer makes it clear that this is a Clint Eastwood film, and the fact that his style means it doesn’t look the typical musical adaptation should help draw in those new to Jersey Boys as well.

The songs in the preview are also extremely catchy, and the first big musical movie of 2014 seemingly has everything it needs to succeed. How do you think the Jersey Boys film will hold up to its Broadway counterpart?
