The issues with bringing Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic to the big screen have been well-publicised, with a number of actors dropping out at the last minute and some “Sony Hack” emails making the behind the scenes problems clear. Universal (Sony were originally set to release the movie until budgetary concerns led to them passing on the project) are now releasing the movie, and the first trailer has now been revealed.

It mainly focuses on X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and The Interview’s Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder. It doesn’t reveal much, but gives us an idea what to expect.

The synopsis reveals that events in the movie will indeed be “set backstage at three iconic product launches” with the end point set to be “in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac”. It adds that “the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.”

The cast of Steve Jobs also includes Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg, Perla Haney-Jardine, Ripley Sobo, Mackenzie Moss, Sarah Snook, Andrea Cunningham, and Adam Shapiro.
