There are a lot of huge movies coming out this year, but one which has flown under the radar until now is Money Monster, a thriller directed by Jodie Foster which features an all-star cast.

The synopsis reveals that in Money Monster, Lee Gates (George Clooney) is a bombastic TV personality whose popular financial network show has made him the money wiz of Wall Street. But after he hawks a high tech stock that mysteriously crashes, an irate investor (Jack O’Connell) takes Gates, his crew, and his ace producer Patty Fenn (Julia Roberts) hostage live on air. Unfolding in real time, Gates and Fenn must find a way to keep themselves alive while also uncovering the truth behind a tangle of big money lies.

It looks fantastic, and with the likes of Dominic West, Giancarlo Esposito, and Caitronia Balfe also in the movie, this has all the makings of a sleeper hit in a year crammed full of big budget superhero blockbusters (although there are of course plenty of alternatives to those).

Written by Jamie Linden (Dear John), Money Monster is set to be released this May. What do you think of this first look at the movie? Head to the comments section below to tell us!
