That’s right, yet another Amityville Horror movie is in the works! While you might be questioning the necessity of an additional instalment in the franchise, one quick look at the first trailer for Amityville: The Awakening shows that this one has a lot of potential and should deliver a lot of scares.

The latest Amityville sees Blended star Bella Thorne take on a leading role in the movie which features her character moving into the infamous house with her mother and sister. They make that fateful decision when her brother is left comatose, and the twist here is that the house appears to be communicating with him!

It’s been a decade since the last movie (which starred Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George), and Amityville: The Awakening will be the twelfth film in the series after it kicked of with 1979’s classic. The cast also includes Cameron Monaghan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Thomas Mann and Mckenna Grace.

There have been two other Amityville’s since the 2005 version though, but both went straight to DVD. This will be the first in a decade to hit the big screen and is directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac).

Amityville: The Awakening is set to be released on January 2nd, 2015. What do you think of this trailer?
