Not to be confused with the recent Natalie Dormer-starring horrorshow The Forest we’re back in amongst the trees for the latest outing from writing/directing team of Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett.
The first trailer for The Woods has many familiar images. College aged kids (Callie Hernandez, James Allen McCune, Brandon Scott, Wes Robinson and Corbin Reid) enter the titular woods in search of escape and adventure, ignore several warnings, arrive and relax, then thing start to go bump in the night.
But this is from the people behind You’re Next (a brilliant take on the house invasion horror), The Guest (a gripping psychological thriller) as well as their standout work on the new wave of horror anthologies V/H/S and The ABCs of Death. So, there’s plenty to look forward to. Let’s see if it lives up to its own proudly-stated hype.
