Channing Tatum returns to male stripping this summer once more, starring front and centre in the second slice of action for the stripper comedy, Magic Mike XXL.
Tatum dropped the first poster yesterday, announcing that the trailer would bow today on The Ellen Show. And now DeGeneres has launched the first footage, giving us a flavour of some of the moves the guys will be busting come summer.
Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, the film finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blowout performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias, and Kevin Nash all reprise their roles from the original, with Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith, Donald Glover, and Michael Strahan topping the list of newcomers.
Gregory Jacobs, a producer on the first film, is directing from a script Tatum co-wrote with producing partner Reid Carolin (Magic Mike).
Magic Mike XXL hits US cinemas on 1st July over the long holiday weekend, before arriving in the UK on 31st July.
