The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby is one of the more intriguing projects coming our way next year.

Told in two parts – The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers – the dramas see James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain star in the leads, and now the first poster has found its way online.

“Two films – interwoven to complete one story.  Set in the hip areas of New York City, we follow the paths of Eleanor Rigby and her husband Conor.  When Eleanor suddenly disappears back to her family home and avoids all contact with Conor, we question what broke down the relationship that once seemed so right.”

Starring alongside McAvoy and Chastain is an impressive cast, headed up by William Hurt (Into the Wild), Viola Davis (The Help), Jess Weixler (Free Samples), Bill Hader (SNL), Ciarán Hinds (Munich), and Nina Arianda (Midnight in Paris).

Ned Benson is making his feature directorial debut with both films, directing from his own scripts.

As of yet, neither film has a release date, but we’re hoping that they’ll both be coming our way before long in 2013. For now, here’s the first poster for the films.
