Parkland-PosterPeter Landesman makes his directorial debut this year with Parkland, the JFK assassination drama that is sure to become one of the most talked-about movies of the year.

The film is set to debut at Venice and go on to TIFF in the next few weeks. And with its first trailer set to land online next week, Yahoo Movies have debuted the first poster, alongside the first official images from the film.

PARKLAND recounts the dramatic true story of the chaotic events that occurred at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22nd 1963.

The stellar ensemble cast is led by Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton, Tom Welling, James Badge Dale, Colin Hanks, David Harbour, Marcia Gay Harden, Jeremy Strong, Ron Livingston, and Jacki Weaver.

Landesman is directing from his own script, with Tom Hanks and his Playtone co-founder Gary Goetzman producing alongside Bill Paxton.

Parkland is set to debut at Venice in just a few short weeks, which in all likelihood could well see the start of an Oscar campaign for Landesman’s debut. From there, it’s due to be released in the US on September 20th, before heading across the Atlantic for an 8th November release in the UK. For now, the first poster and images. And be sure to come back next week for when the first trailer hits.
