The Incredible Burt Wonderstone has one of the biggest potentials of any comedy next year. Led by Jim Carrey and Steve Carell, reunited following the success of Bruce Almighty, the film is due out in Spring 2013, and we can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
With only a few months to go before it arrives on the big screen, USA Today have debuted the first two official images from the film, giving us a brilliant look at its leading cast.
The official full synopsis is being kept under wraps, but we know that Carell stars as the eponymous Burt Wonderstone, part of a two-man magician act in Vegas. After his partner (Buscemi) leaves him, he finds himself having to compete with a hot new act (Carrey) and has to convince his partner to come back to the stage.
Starring alongside Carrey and Carell is an excellent cast, headed up by Olivia Wilde, Steve Buscemi, James Gandolfini, Alan Arkin, Melissa Ordway, Brad Garrett, and the great Jay Mohr.
Don Scardino (30 Rock) makes what promises to be a fine feature directorial debut, with the original spec script coming from Chad Kultgen, and the screenplay itself penned by Horrible Bosses scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is currently set for a 15th March, 2013 release in the US. No word yet on when we can expect it in the UK, but with such a high-profile cast, and plenty of anticipation surrounding it, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a UK release date announced at a similar time.
