Following on from the impressive success of RED back in 2010, RED 2 will once more see Bruce Willis banding together with Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren, for another dose of action-comedy awesomeness.
Robert Schwentke’s original film took just shy of 0m., and with another all-star cast lined up, there’s every reason to expect a repeat performance next year.
Having given us our first official look at The Hangover Part III, EW have also been kind enough to grace us with the first official image from this other sequel.
The plot is currently being kept under wraps, which is always nice to see.
Starring alongside Willis, Parker, Malkovich, and Mirren will be some excellent new faces, headed up by Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Lee Byung-hun, Neal McDonough, and David Thewlis.
Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane) is taking over at the helm, with brothers Erich and Jon Hoeber penning the script once more.
RED 2 is set for release in the UK and US on 2nd August, 2013, which is a date that can’t come fast enough. The original is brilliant, and here’s to hoping the sequel will live up to expectations.
