Yesterday brought with it the first posters for Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher, which sees Tom Cruise star in the eponymous lead, adapting the best-selling novel, One Shot, by Lee Child.

The film will be hitting cinemas at Christmas this year, and we now have our first look at Rosamund Pike in the film. The teaser trailer promised plenty of action when it hit over the summer, and with just two and a half months to go before it arrives, we should be getting a full-length trailer very soon.

“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”

McQuarrie is directing from his own script, with Cruise leading a promising cast, alongside Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.

Jack Reacher will be heading into theatres on 21st December in the US, followed by a Boxing Day release here in the UK, giving it the same slot in both territories as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol last year, which went on to take almost $700m. worldwide. For now, here’s our first look at Pike as the female lead, and as usual, you can click through to enlarge.
