Yesterday brought with it our first look at Chris Pine in the lead of Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming action-thriller, Jack Ryan.

The film marks the fifth in the series adapting Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan novels, with production currently underway in Manhattan. And after yesterday’s first look at Pine, Paramount have now released the first look at his co-star, Kevin Costner, as legendary CIA agent, William Harper.

Branagh, himself, is both directing and taking the antagonist role, with Keira Knightley landing the sought-after female lead last month as Pine/Ryan’s wife, Cathy Ryan.

Jack Ryan centres on a Marine-turned-financial-analyst (Pine) who, after discovering a plot by his employer to bring down the US economy, goes on the run to save both his country and his wife.

Branagh is coming off the back of directing Marvel blockbuster, Thor, and was last seen across the globe as Brunel in the Olympics Opening Ceremony just over a month ago, and he’ll be directing from a script most recently penned by David Koepp (Spider-Man, Mission: Impossible).

Jack Ryan has already been set for release on Christmas Day, 2013, and with such a stellar cast, is promising to be one of the biggest blockbusters of next year. For now, enjoy this first look at Costner, and as usual, you can click through to enlarge.
