Daredevil made his big screen debut back in 2003 when he was played by Ben Affleck. Critics and fans alike agreed that the movie did not work, and while a reboot was in development at one point at Fox with Joe Carnahan, the studio ultimately decided to let the rights revert to Marvel Studios.

Rather than give the Man Without Fear another movie, Marvel have instead decided to make the character part of four series’ which will debut on online streaming service Netflix.

Daredevil will be joined by Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, with the foursome later teaming up in an event series called The Defenders. We haven’t heard much about the other three, but Daredevil is currently shooting in New York, and Boardwalk Empire star Charlie Cox has been cast as the superhero.

The series also stars Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, and Rosario Dawson. It’s previously been reported that it will debut early in 2015 and it IS set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thanks to Just Jared, we now have a first lok at the actor as the blind lawyer in New York City. His activities as Daredevil have left him looking a little battered, and you can see more images by clicking here.
