Up until now, Marvel has only teased us with the imposing presence of Jurassic World star Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin in Daredevil, but now the first official images of him have finally been released.

Talking to USA Today about taking on the iconic role, the actor said: “I just brought in this kind of character who in one sentence could easily go from being a child to a monster, depending on where his emotions take him. I wanted him to have an appearance of being super-powerful so that when he throws a punch, it’s a major punch. There’s a lot of weight behind it.” That sounds very similar to the comic books, that’s for sure.

Produced by Marvel Television, ABC Studios, and Netflix, Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

The anticipated new series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.

Daredevil is one of five Marvel shows coming to Netflix, with the others being Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. This series is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods), with the latter writing the first two episodes.
