Clint Eastwood returns in front of the camera for the first time since 2008’s Gran Torino this year in Trouble with the Curve, a movie we’ve been eagerly looking forward to since it was first announced late last year.

Starring alongside him will be a very promising cast, headed up by the brilliant Amy Adams playing his daughter, as well as Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Matthew Lillard, Robert Patrick, and newcomer Joe Massingill.

And now EW have given us a great first look at Eastwood, Adams, and Timberlake ahead of its release in a few months’ time.

Eastwood stars as,

“an aging baseball scout, who’s losing his sight, and heads on a last road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a hotshot prospect.”

The Oscar-nominated Robert Lorenz, Eastwood’s long-time producing partner/second assistant director on the likes of Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, and Gran Torino, will be making his feature directorial debut behind the camera, from a script by newcomer Randy Brown.

Trouble with the Curve will be released in the US on 28th September, before heading to the UK a little later on 30th November. This is one I really can’t wait for. The talent alone is enough to hint at an Oscar run, and we all know that the various awards of the industry love a tale of the underdog. I have a feeling this is going to be brilliant.
