It was revealed during this year’s Comic-Con that Bobbi Morse, a character who in the comics eventually becomes the heroic Mockingbird and the wife of Hawkeye, would be joining the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. roster. Marvel later announced that G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress Adrianne Palicki had been cast in the role.

A first look at Palicki – who played Wonder Woman in a failed pilot episode for NBC – as Morse has now been revealed, along with some very intriguing details about how her character will factor into the series.

The future Mockingbird will make her debut in an October episode as the head of Hydra security. Wait a second, she’s one of the bad guys?! It appears as if Bobbi will certainly start out that way unless she’s working undercover for Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and it should be interesting to see this play out.

“I know if I play this character, I probably would never play another Marvel character,” Palicki said of taking on the role in a recent interview. “There’s different questions you have to ask, and you ask about that too. All those silly fears that you get being locked into something, but I have to say working with this group of people has been amazing. These producers and show runners are fantastic and I trust them implicitly. Marvel’s been really fun to work with as well, so I’m looking forward to it and I hope it’s a long run for us.”

The second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has already kicked off in the US, but there’s no word on when or where it will reach the UK. The first season was aired on Channel 4 last year, so it may return to them.
