Taken is a movie which completely turned Liam Neeson’s career around, making the now 62 year old actor one of cinema’s reliable and watchable action stars in the process. The third instalment in the franchise is set to be released early next year, and the first images from the movie have now been released.

They feature Bryan Mills (Neeson) Forest Whitaker as Franck Dotzler and Maggie Grace as Kim Mills.

When asked about the premise of this latest chapter in the franchise, Neeson said: “I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me. This time, no more travelling. If my daughter was ‘taken’ again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting.”

The actor makes an interesting point and also seems to think that Taken 3 (Tak3n?) could be the last, especially if it reaches a point where people can’t take it seriously. “If I feel audiences saying, ‘Come on, he’s 62, enough is enough,’ I’m very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. And I’ll start playing dads or grandfathers. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it’s fun.”

Of course, if you’ve seen A Walk Among The Tombstones, you’ll agree that Neeson has most definitely still got it! That movie and more can be found in our list of the 20 most must-watch movies left in 2014.
