Sound Of My Voice, one of the best received films at Sundance last year, is getting its US release at the end of this month, and so far we’ve had both a first trailer for the film and the opportunity to watch the first twelve minutes.

The first clip from the film has now debuted online, courtesy of Yahoo Movies, in which we get to see two of the leads, Christopher Denham and Nicole Vicius.

“In SOUND OF MY VOICE, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.”

Along with Denham and Vicius, Brit Marling also stars as one of the leads, having co-written the script with director Zal Batmanglij. Marling has been very much one to watch in the past year, with her other film at Sundance last year, Another Earth, taking two awards at the festival.

Batmanglij and Marling have already been working on their follow-up, The East, which co-stars Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgård, Toby Kebbell, Patricia Clarkson, and Julia Ormond, and it looks like the pair should deservedly be on the rise in the years to come.

Sound Of My Voice will be released in the US on 27th April, and as yet there’s no word of if/when it will be coming out here in the UK. Another Earth was released in the US last summer and didn’t come out until December here, so I’m hoping we’ll at least be seeing it sometime this year. For now, here’s the first clip for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
