Jack Reacher is set to hit theatres hard at the end of the month, with one of the last all-out action blockbusters of the year. Tom Cruise stars as the title character, marking the first adaptation in the best-selling series of novels by Lee Child.
With only a few weeks before it hits the big screen, we caught a new featurette for the film last week, featuring author Child himself, and now Paramount have released the first clip, giving us a look at Cruise and his battle-worn body.
“When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.”
Starring alongside Cruise will be an excellent cast, headed up by Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo, Robert Duvall, and Werner Herzog.
Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) is behind the camera, directing from his own script, having adapted the original novel, One Shot, by Child.
Jack Reacher will be released in the US on 21st December, followed shortly after in the UK on 26th December. The film opens in both territories in the same slot as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol did last year, and it’s no secret how immensely well that did.
