Universal have been gearing up Fast and Furious 6 for its May release very nicely in the past month, kicking things off in the best way possible with a Super Bowl TV spot.
And continuing on from there, Yahoo Movies have released the first Fast and Furious 6 featurette, going behind the scenes with the brilliant director, Justin Lin, along with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
*Warning: Spoilers Lie Ahead*
“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”
Starring alongside Diesel, Walker, and Rodriguez is another exceptional ensemble, led by Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky, and the excellent Sung Kang.
Lin is behind the camera once more for Fast and Furious 6, having helmed the third, fourth, and fifth instalments. And he’s directing from a script penned by Chris Morgan, who’s written all the films in the series that Lin has directed.
Fast and Furious 6 will be released on 24th May in the UK and US, and that is a release date that really cannot come fast enough. Here’s the first featurette to help make the wait a little bit easier in the meantime.
