By far one of the most anticipated movies of the year, let alone the blockbuster-heavy month that is May 2013, Fast and Furious 6 is just weeks away from arrival. And the anticipation is all but killing me.
As a huge fan of the franchise, this really can’t come fast enough.
We’ve seen nothing but awesome things from the film already, with the brilliant final trailer surfacing most recently. And with its release date fast approaching, a set of nine clips from the movie has made its way online.
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are of course reprising their leading roles once more. And the two are joined by another excellent ensemble, led by Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky, and the brilliant Sung Kang.
Justin Lin is behind the camera once more, directing from a script penned by Chris Morgan, who’s written all the films Lin’s directed in the series.
Universal have already set Fast and Furious 7 for release on July 11th, 2014, giving us even more reasons to look forward to Fast and Furious 6’s release this month.

Fast and Furious 6 will be hitting UK theatres on 17th May, with its US release date following a week later on May 24th. For now, here are the nine new clips to get you in the mood. This is going to be epic. Guaranteed to be one of the bests film of the year.
