We’ve seen some intriguing teasers over the past few months, but now the first full-length trailer for season two of Fargo has been released. Despite the very different setting, we see all the blood and murder which made the first season such a breakout hit. Will it top that? We’ll have to wait and see, but it looks great.

Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) is set to play Lou Solverson, a clean cut Minnesota State Patrolman, four years back from Vietnam, where he served in the Navy. A humble and competent man, Lou is a devoted husband to his wife Betsy (who has not been cast as of yet), and father to four-year-old Molly.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because we met Lou in the first season where he was played by Keith Carradine. Season two is a prequel, expanding on some of the events referenced in last year’s episodes.

Ted Danson (CSI) meanwhile will play Hank Larsson, the Sheriff of Rock County, Minnesota. He’s an unflappable WWII vet who embodies a certain cowboy poetry, and Hank is also Lou’s father-in-law. Jean Smart (Frasier) will play Floyd Gerhardt, the matriarch of the Gerhardt crime family. She’s stood by her husband’s side for 40 years, but now that he’s out of the picture she thinks it’s her turn to run things.

A number of other additions include Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), Kieran Culkin (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Bokeem Woodbine (Southland), Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) and Angus Sampson (Insidious). That’s obviously quite the cast, as we’re sure you’ll all agree!
