The summer may feel like a very long time away during these cold winter months, but the blockbuster season will be with us in no time at all! That means Wonder Woman is just seven months way, a movie which has a lot riding on it after the mixed response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad; it has to deliver critically and commercially!

Whether or not it will remains to be seen, but a new image is here along with comments from director Patty Jenkins. “What motivates her is philosophical. She isn’t just taking out bad guys or fighting crime. She believes in goodness and love. [She] is fierce and willing to fight, but only to protect a better vision for mankind. Hers is really a coming-of-age story.”

“My approach was to focus on telling the story of mechanised war and how that would look to a god visiting our world for the first time,” Jenkins added in regards to the movie’s WWI setting. “[I wanted the audience to understand the horrors that a war on this scale makes possible and how shocking that would be to someone who comes with a strong sense of honour and justice. She doesn’t realise yet just how senselessly dark the world can be.”

Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, and Lucy Davis. Directed by Patty Jenkins, principal photography has taken place on location in the UK, France and Italy. It’s set to be released July 2017.
