Walking-with-Dinosaurs:-The-3D-Movie-Quad-Poster

Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie will be heading into cinemas just in time for Christmas next month, returning us 70 million years into the past for an adventure of impressive scope.

The film features computer-animated creatures in live-action settings – itself a very interesting approach to making a movie like this – based on the incredibly popular BBC miniseries of the same name.

With less than a month to count down before it hits the big screen, we’ve got two exclusive new character featurettes to share, introducing Alex, an Alexornis bird, and our leading dinosaur Patchi, a Pachyrhinosaurus.

For the first time in movie history, audiences will truly see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. WALKING WITH DINOSAURS: THE 3D MOVIE is the ultimate immersive, big-screen, 3-D experience. Recent discoveries and a breakthrough in technology will introduce new and unique dinosaurs that are more real than ever before and put moviegoers in the middle of a thrilling prehistoric adventure, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs against all odds to become a hero for the ages.

John Leguizamo and Justin Long lead the voice cast as Alex and Patchi, respectively, with Tiya Sircar and Skyler Stone voicing Juniper and Scowler, Patchi’s best friend and his older brother.

Barry Cook (Mulan, Arthur Christmas) and Neil Nightingale (Enchanted Kingdom 3D) co-directed the movie for BBC Earth, with John Collee (Happy Feet) penning the script.

Walking with Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie will be released in the UK and US on December 20th. And in case you missed it, you can enjoy the UK trailer here.
